Sacramento, CA – Today, the No on Prop 44 campaign launched its first statewide ad, “Devastate” which is set to appear across broadcast, cable and digital platforms. The campaign’s eight figure media buy will run through Election Day.

“Prop 44 is a devastating initiative that will result in hundreds of clinics shutting their doors and thousands of clinics significantly reducing services,” said Francisco Silva, President & CEO, California Primary Care Association. “Millions of patients would be hurt by Prop 44, which is why such a broad coalition of more than 300 organizations across the political spectrum has come together to urge voters to say NO on 44. We’re confident that when voters hear the facts, they will reject this dangerous measure.”

Health economists warn Prop 44 will cut $1.7 billion from community health clinics in the first year and billions thereafter. As a result, 88% of clinics across the state would operate at a loss.

Prop 44 would penalize clinics for investing in key patient services, and includes major legal flaws that will force clinics to cut back on essential care, such as nurse managers, patient enrollment navigators, human resources, medical infrastructure like x-ray and mammography machines, translators, transportation services and more.   For more information and to view the 300+ list of groups opposing Prop 44, visit: https://noprop44.com/
